My Personal Journey

I’m a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma through my mother. Type 2 diabetes occurs on both sides of my family. After connecting with my extended Seminole family and discovering that Tribal members lived an average of only 60 years, I became motivated to follow a plant-based diet. This personal journey, combined with my professional background, has shown me that food systems are essential to fostering environmental, public, and individual health. I became an affiliate of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine in 2024 as a Licensed Food for Life Instructor.
